UpMobility Foundation Helps Make Mohawk Valley Gives’ Biggest Year Yet Possible

On September 18, the Mohawk Valley in Upstate New York came together for our region’s biggest celebration of generosity: Mohawk Valley Gives. The annual giving day has raised millions of dollars for hundreds of nonprofits throughout the region—and its growth over just a few years has been remarkable. In 2022, Mohawk Valley Gives raised just over $630,000. This year, the campaign reached a new milestone, bringing in $8,118,708.

At UpMobility Foundation, we’re proud to have played a role in that success. This year, five of the top 10 organizations on the Mohawk Valley Gives leaderboard were recipients of an UpMobility Foundation match. By providing matching funds, our goal is not simply to increase the dollars raised on a single day. We want to help organizations inspire new donors, deepen relationships with existing supporters, and build a broader base of support that lasts well beyond the campaign.

One of our match recipients, On Point for College of Utica, shared how that support has contributed to its fundraising growth. The college access organization told us that UpMobility’s support during Mohawk Valley Gives: “…has been extraordinarily impactful, empowering great growth in donor, donor advised fund and grant support.” The results help tell that story. From 2022 to 2026, On Point for College reported a 36.4% increase in dollars raised, growth that demonstrates how matching support can help organizations build momentum year after year.

 And this year’s records weren’t limited to dollars raised. Mohawk Valley Gives also reached its highest level of participation yet, with 9,285 donors taking part. By one measure, that means donors participating in the campaign represented approximately 1.5% of the Mohawk Valley’s population—a remarkable show of community support for the nonprofits in our region. Mohawk Valley Gives is helping create that culture of philanthropy across the region, connecting thousands of donors with organizations making a difference in their own communities. We’re proud that our matching support can help nonprofits make the most of that opportunity—turning a single day of giving into relationships and resources that can continue to grow.

After another record-breaking year, we’re already looking ahead. We look forward to continuing to work alongside our nonprofit partners and helping expand the base of support during Mohawk Valley Gives 2027.
